About The Doctor

Dr. Lea Wester, ND is a Naturopathic Doctor who specializes in functional digestive disorders. She was drawn to alternative medicine after a life long struggle with candida, heartburn (GERD), severe abdominal distension, chronic fatigue, weight gain, and brain fog. After years of disappointment working with mainstream medical doctors, she took it upon herself to find her own answers. Although her journey still continues, she has discovered many important techniques for treating complex chronic conditions. Every recommendation she makes comes from personal experience and years of education.

She is passionate about the microbiome and the role that it plays in immune function, metabolism, and neurotransmitters. She stays up to date on developing research surrounding fecal microbial transplants (FMT), probiotics, prebiotics, and the gut-brain connection. In addition to these interests, she is a strong advocate for Environmental Medicine, and believes that everyone should be aware of daily toxic exposures and how to minimize them.

Dr. Wester attended Bastyr University California where she received a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. In addition to this she graduated magna cum laude from California State University San Marcos with a bachelor of science in kinesiology. She holds advanced certifications and training in Intravenous Therapies, Phytotherapy, Epigenetics, and Functional Lab Test Analysis.

She is a member of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association (CNDA), The American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), and The Gastroenterology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (GastroANP).
